Domain registrar won't accept my nameserver! :(

I have no clue what's going on.

This is the email I sent to my registrar. Other than "have you registered your nameservers" they haven't offered any solution yet.

I've replaced:
-my domain with domain.com
-my server ip with 209.1.1.1
-my ns1 ip with 209.1.1.1
-my ns2 ip with 209.1.1.2

I tried first adding a zone record for ns1 & ns2 , then switching the nameservers, but that didn't work. After adding the zone record, I went to another host and did nslookup setting the server to ns1.domain.com and that worked. server=209.1.1.1 also worked.

A whois on the domain shows my registrar's nameservers. Dig & traceroute on the outside server also reflects registrar's nameservers' info.

I hope this is enough info... any help ?

Thanks
