Looking for Script(s) - I AM DESPERATE!
- One of my customers is a state wide association of high schools. They need to allow 75-100 separate FTP accounts under their master account.
- Each FTP account needs its own directory under the customer's domain (ie: customer.com/schoolname
- Each FTP account will use less than 150KB disk space. The files will be all html pages.
- None of the FTP accounts should be able to write to any other directory, however they should be able to create their own directories in their space
- All the directories must be readable by anyone
- The customer must retain write access to all of the directories and files.
- I am a reseller rather than having my own server, thus the solution cannot require the use of root. Also, if possible, the desired solution would not impact any files used on the whole server. In otherwords, the group and password files (or whatever controls the users) should reside in the customer's domain (/home/customer) rather than at the server level (/etc or /usr).
- Preferably the customer should be able to set these up themselves rather than getting me or my hosting provider involved.
- The cost should be minimal (less than $50)
I have evaluated several solutions but none work quite the way I need it to work. At one point, someone referred be to WebMister. However I can't find the source scripts (I see a lot of hosting companies that offer it to their customers).
