best dual Xeon chipset
I am considering building a fleet of dual Xeon 1U servers to complement my dual AMD 2U servers.
With the AMD's,I am quite literate and competant as to what I need.
With the Xeons, I am clueless. I am reviewing Dual Xeon reviews and any information I can find.
My requirements are simple:
-Support 533 fsb
-Builtin Lan / Video / Dual CPU (duh)
Embedded SCSI is an option, but if not I will use a LSI u160 card with a 1U riser. *shrugs* I already have a selection of outstanding 1U xeon heatsinks and a 1U case in mind.
I am aware they require registered ECC ram, same as my AMD systems.
Can anyone step up and recommend a particularily well-performing chipset or even a motherboard recommendation?
