domain name redirection to plesk server ??????????? (is it a bug)

Hi I have a cobalt raq in the uk and a plesk box in the us. I have a domain on the uk server and want to put subs on the plesk one. So
1)I create dns records on the cobalt server with the plesk server IP
2) create the domain on the plesk server
3) I get page does not exist for some time then I delete the domain on the plesk server then when I do sub.domain.com I don't get error I get plesk server's default main page that says that site is not created ... so I create the subdomain again and I still get plesk server's default main page that says that site is not created ...

I have created other subs for the same domain that work fine but everynow and again I get ones that do as above !
What I do not understand is that it is only once I have deleted the domain that the server's mais page comes up and before I get page does not exist ! and then when I recreate the sub I still get the servers main page and not the sites page ...

Can anyone help ... is this a plesk bug?
I had plesk 2.0 which I upgraded to 2.5 and I've got linux 7.1
