apache and directories

Hi, just got apache working, well sort of. It will load the index.htm page which is great, but it wont load any images that are stored in directorys other that the index.htm file. It also wont goto web pages in a directory other than the directory with the index.htm file in

I am using redhat 7.3 in the kde graphical interface, so is there something i have to do to get it to work, thanx apache and directories
