Still having problems with FreeBSD 4.5 and mysql. I have installed it manually with no sucsess. Cpanel also attempted installing it and ran into the same problem i did. It keeps saying unable to connect thru /tmp/mysql.sock. I was told to link /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. When i did that i thought it worked but it turns out that /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock also didn't exist. If anyone knows where cpanel put it please reply (whereis cant seem to find it). Thanks!
