Disk problem
I think i have a disk problem. The server sometimes just stops responding for no reason. Not even ping anymore. No high load etc. So i'm thinking of a disk failure, maybe a bad sector or something.
Now i want to check this and unmount some filesystems, one at a time to check them with fsck
Is it safe to unmount the /usr partition if i shut down all none essential services. Or will the server crash?
Is fsck the right program to check for bad sectors??
By the way it's a 7200 RPM maxtor disk. Did other people have any problems with maxtor and bad blocks??
