Another Nameserver question
With all the questions about nameservers popping up, a question popped up in my head too.I'm not running the nameservers for my domain, but since I'm just experimenting with my domain I sometimes need to make changes to the DNS. I can request this from my nameserverhost, but it usually takes 2 months and a lot of calling to have a record changed.
This is because I'm a "small unproffesional site and they have better things to do then change my DNS records", this pissed me of quite a bit since with a previous change it was changed within a minute when I phoned them (6 weeks after the request).
I was thinking about running my own DNS server, but I don't want "the world" to access it. So I was thinking about having them change the "primary DNS server"-SOA-record to my server.
So my goal is that when someone whois' my domain he finds the nameservers: ns1.myhost.com and ns2.myhost.com, but that ns1 and ns2 .myhost.com update from ns.mydomain.com
Would this be possible and achieved by changing SOA>primary dns server record (without adding my domainname to any DNS DB)?
