Windows security issue
Ok, heres a thread you don't hear everyday, I'm having a problem copying my files over to another computer.Right now I have a HD that is about to go, and I'm trying to get some critical files off. But it appears they have been "encryped", so I'm unable to do anything but back them up. They cant be copied, moved etc from their current location. The comptuer the HD was originially in has died on me, so using the original computer is no good (wont boot, no beeps, sounds and the PSU is fine)... I'm on an old IBM 266 now

This may sound bad, but how the hell do I get these files before the HD dies completely? It's making some nasty noises, but I *know* the HD can read the data just fine cause I recovered the other 9GB off the drive, and I was able to back them up using win2k's backup program.
Everything I have tried to get these files back has resulted in "Access Denied: The file may be in use".
I'm the original creator of these files, and Administrator on this computer as my 1.4GHz that died...
Any ideas? You may contact me off-forum how to do this. I'm desperate and out of ideas.
Thanks

<Edit>
I managed to restore my old profile, but I'm still unable to get the files because I need to recover my "private key" so I can get my files back... I tried booting off the original config, but all it does is restart the computer, but this computer is 5 years old... *sigh*
f I can at least boot in safe-mode on my original drive and export my "certificate" I'll be able to get my files back... Thank god I didnt wipe the system partition yet..

<Edit #2>
I said the hell with trying to recover the files on this computer, so I backed up the encrypted files, as well as the win2k installation that was on the old C partiton. I'll try a restore when I get my other computer and see if I can recover them that way.
