Video card issue

I have a colo that I just shipped to the datacenter. It was having problems there, so I had them ship it back to me. I concluded that the motherboard was the problem so I ordered a new one. The vendor sent the wrong one and it didn't have a video card. I hooked up a video card to it after I replaced the mobo and everythig booted up nicely. Then I sent it back to the datacenter. Now the tech at the datacenter is telling me that as long as there's a keyboard and video card attached to it everything is OK, but when he takes the keyboard and video card off the server can't be reached by the nic card. Would a OS reinstall take care of this problem? There is nothing on the server that I need to save. It currently has RedHat 8.0 on it. I'm thinking that when they reinstalled the OS that it would probe the hardware and include all the necessary drivers. I'm also thinking that this wold be easier than reconfiguring the kernel.
