Disable Quotas for a directory ?
Wondering if anyone could help.
RH 7.2 with Ensim 3.1.1
Disk Quotas turned on ...
Running a script to backup all user files to a single directory
/backup
Problem : because the owners of the files in /backup are the site owners themselves .. this adds onto their disk quota. Is there anyway in which I could tell Ensim or the OS ... to exclude the /backup directory in calculation quotas ?
I do not want /backup to be counted against the users disk quota.
An illustration ...
Site1 ... has a fixed disk quota of 50MB
At the current moment, all files = 20MB
Ensim Site Admin screen shows Disk Quota as 20MB used.
When I run my backup script once, it copies all Site1's files to the /backup directory.
However, now, on Ensim Site Admin screen, it shows Disk Quota as 40MB used ....
Imagine what would happen if I run the script 3 times ...
Day 1 ... backup to /backup
Day 2 ... backup to /backup2
Day 3 ... backup to /backup3
Come Day 3. after the backup script has run.... Site1's Disk Quota is reached and all the users on Site1 would NOT be able to receive any email....
Help and advice please ?
