router/firewall/switch
One of my client has 8 boxes [with more to be added soon] with a provider, all with 300GB allowed bandwidth and connected on a 100 Mbps network.
The requirement now is :
r> we should be able to put a threshold to the bandwidth of 300GB, and/or say a grace of 50GB and then not allow more tarffic.
r> we want to provide the client with his own MRTG/network usage report
r> we want to be able to stop the network to the server outself, rather than waiting for the NOC to do so.
r> If possible, we want to allow certain ports per server/all server and close other ports.
The Best way to achieve the above is by putting a router/firewall/switch between the NOC and the servers.
Perhaps 24 port but all 10/100Mbps or just 100Mbps.
Please let me know of the best router/switch that can achieve most/all of the above, which can be remotely managed/configured via http or telnet/ssh.
Price of the hardware should be in the range of $500-$1500.
