Weeeeeeird DNS trouble
One of my servers today got a really high load due to a client's scripts going wild (I could see the sites, just slow). I disabled the client, killed some proccess and the load started to go down, but I decided it would be best for a reboot (It had been up for a 60 days or so). Upon reboot Named wouldn't come up, there were some duplicate entries in named.conf . Took the duplicate entry out, named came up fine. Although through terminal everything looked perfectly back to normal, I couldn't see any of the clients sites! I went and double checked everything, but everything seemed perfectly normal. Out of frustration, I rebooted again and everything looked perfect once again. I messaged about 10 people and they all said they could see the sites, I see apache working properly, so I'm the only one that can't see the sites. I can however see the sites via IP. This points me to something has to be up with DNS near my end. I cleared my DNS cache, went to 3 other computer on my LAN, still no luck. I can get to other servers of mine on the same network. Whatcha think?
also, just tell me if the following is up because it may be something with Road Runner (my isp)
