fraud IP blocking on win2K ?
A project I am working on requires real-time CC processing. The product sold is delivered electronically in real-time right after the CC is charged. As you can imagine fraud is a big problem with this business. We only want to do business with US customers (would like to block all or any non-US IP's if needed to avoid fraud).
Now on Lunix servers you can block to IP using the .htaccess file, but how do you accomplish this on W2k hosted website. Is there a script with a local database that will allow you to accomplish that. Also, would like to point out, this site is hosted on a shared server so there is no serverwide admin access, just a reseller account.
I notice that there are some companies, such as, Ip2Location and LocateIP that sell services to identify IP location, but really looking for a custom solution to input IP blocks locally and prevent them from ordering the product. I am also aware of people using Proxy IP's , but atleast this is a start.
Can someone point me in the right direction!
