Building my own server, need advice

Its probalby been asked and asked over again, but here goes:

What is the best type of RAM for a server that will run forums, php scripts, etc?

What is the best type of processor?

What size hard drive

(this server will be used The Combat Sims Network and will run scripts, such as news scripts, membership scripts, forums, etc, any sort of scripts gaming websites would run, with at least 25k hits, so any advice would help me build a perfect server.

I would prefer prices in £, and any cheap websites that you can provide for quality pieces of hardware at cheap prices.
