Windows Partition and Swap File Advice

I will be building my own Windows server next week and was wondering what size to make the swap file and partitions. The server will have 1 GB of ECC SDRAM and a single WD 80GB IDE drive with 8MB cache. It will mainly be used for serving files, both large (about 10MB each) and small (a few kilobytes each).

I've read that it is good to make your swap file about 2 or 2 ½ times the size of your RAM, but only if you have a small amount of RAM. I was thinking of making the swap file about 1GB in size anyway, to match the size of the RAM. Is this fine, too much, or not enough?

As for the partitions, I could install the OS on one partition, the server software and all of the large files on another, all of the small ones on yet another, and make one last partition for the swap file. Or would it be best to just make one large partition and one small one? I'm afraid that the drive's head will go like crazy if I scatter all of the data across the drive (even if it does have more than one platter).

I plan to have Diskeeper on the server and have it run each day sometime when traffic is low (probably midnight to 4 AM). I also plan to use the NTFS file system. I'd just like to get the fastest speed out of the drive. Thanks.
