Working with Server files and FrontPage
I was not able to get certain functionality in the .htaccess file to work and I had other users verify and they couldn't either.

.htaccess does not work with FP, because FP sets it's own permissions. If you try to use .htaccess after using FP, it will mess up your FP, and if you try to use FP after using .htaccess it will mess up .htaccess. You must chose one or the other, and stick with it.

What I would like to discuss, is Clients using FrontPage and files such as .htaccess. The above doesn't sound right to me as, just today, I modified an .htaccess file for a Client who does use FP and there was no problem. I did the edit on the Server using Vi so that might have made a difference, I don't know?
The statement above makes it sounds like that person had first-hand knowledge of how FP treats the .htaccess file. I'm not out to bash FP as it's one of those things we Hosters need to allow people to use, no matter what type of Server OS is being used.
Does anyone have first-hand knowledge on these types of FP situations. It worked, didn't worked, screwed up the site, or not a problem? Any personal experience with FP & Server specific files would be welcome as well -- always good to know these things beforehand.
