Has anyone found a customer friendly subdomain solution for Ensim?
I love ensim, I really do, but some of it's features are not exactly customer oriented. The fact that you have to create a subdomain through the admin panel for customers is just not a very time/cost effective solution. The fact that customers have to contact you in the first place to create one is annoying for customers as well, no matter how good your response time. I won't get started on their lack of support of multiple MySQL databases. What I want (as well as every other Ensim user wants) is for customers to be able to create their own subdomains. Now, I have read about the apache.py hack that allows users to create a directory inside their html folder by creating a directory called sub.mydomain.com or whatever.
Customers aren't used to that and I personally don't like it either. If a customer was to create a directory called "shop" inside his/her html folder, then they should also somehow be able to set up a subdomain to point to it and be called shop.mydomain.com
This is the only thing I miss from the old days when I ran IIS. Thanks to anyone that might be able to help on this.
