What I actually want is to receive emails on my Windows XP Professional SMTP Server. I want to play around a bit with CDO (that can generate events when a new email is received). But, I am not so sure how can I end up triggering such an event, i.e. no clue how to receive email on my computer that has NOTHING but an ip address. No domain, etc. Let me make it clear, I do not know enough about these things I am more towards the programming side.
In simple words, I want to receive email on my Windows XP Professional setup (just for the testing purposes).
Secondly, how can I view any communication carried out on a certain port? Like data exchanged through the POP3 or MSN Messenger protocol? Is it a port scanner? or what?
