Authorize.net security
Has anyone hear seen this article?http://www.msnbc.com/news/705531.asp?cp1=1
I was talking to a rep from Ezic payment gateway about selling their gateways with my merchant accounts. He asked what I was currently selling and I told him I was selling Authorize.net because that's what everyone asked for. He then stated his opinion that it's rediculous that a company that makes the news over and over for crap security measures and stolen card numbers is the most popular choice.
Anyway, I'm looking in to selling their services since with bulk commitments I can offer Ezic at the same pricing as Authorize.net or cheaper if you consider the cost of Authorize.net's fraud screen as compared to Ezic's anti fraud products and I'm trying to get a feel for where people stand on Authorize.net.
For anyone here using Authorize.net right now, does this article make you think twice about using them? I know they integrate with most software out there so that's another big reason people use them, but Ezic has that taken care of (their software can emulate the Authorize.net protocol that software connects to gateways through, so integration is usually nothing more than changing the Authorize.net url to the Ezic url in the gateway module) so don't consider that in your response.
I know there are a lot of companies here that use 3rd party processors, but there are also a lot of good security folks on the boards so I'm hoping I can get some good solid opinions on this. Thanks everyone in advance for your input.
