Server trying to log in to itself?

I got whole bunches of failed logins to SSH and FTP coming from my own server? I never seen this before. They're coming from my nameserver IP, and localhost.

Like so:
Mar 11 12:18:31 xxxx proftpd[18110]: my.machine.com (localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP login timed out, disconnected.

Mar 9 05:40:34 xxxx sshd[11059]: Did not receive identification string from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-(my nameserver)

It's a new CPanel installation, if that means anything. I don't see any unusual processes or files. Should i freak out, or just shrug?
