New Server MX Records... Please help!
I really need help with this one. My friend is designing a website for his buddy's business, which has no website up yet. They do have the domain hosted by their ISP (Covad.net). So my friend wanted to host the site on our new server... so we changed the DNS over early this morning. Well he just contacted me and said that the company uses the domain to host about 16 pop email accounts and they receive quite a bit of mail. So, the problem is... once the new dns progagates... all their mail will be sent to one main account until we get all the pop accounts straightened out.
He said one of the guys at that company said if we modify the MX records... that they could still receive mail on their old server, which they are going to continue to have anyway. Is that true... and if so... can someone walk me through how to change them? We have a Linux box with cPanel installed.
Any suggestions on how to straighten this out would be appreciated.
