dubious reverse DNS

Sorry to sort of double post (I pulled this from the end of my other thread about aol email), but I am having a serious problem and could use any help that anyone could offer.

I contacted AOL to find out why they were blocking my IP from sending them mail, and it turned out that I have a dubious reverse DNS, meaning that the IP I am using for mail returns to a machine name that is different than the one that sent it out.

Problem is, google is complete bereft of ideas as to how to correct this problem. Does anyone know?
