a bit of a dns quandry
the box is a 2.4ghz p4 @ the planet
redhat8.0 w/ whm cpanel
i am trying to setup 2 nameservers on the box using the ips included with the box. (ns1.ciqala.com - 64.5.48.136, ns2.ciqala.com - 64.5.58.168).
I have setup the domain to have dns servers at the registry (enom) pointing to the ips as listed above. by looking at dnsreport.com i can see the nameservers have propagated to all the primary nameservers but it says that the second nameserver (ns2.ciqala.com - 64.5.58.168) is not responding.
when i dig the nameservers they both show up ok.
but my problem is this.
I added the nameservers to the setup in whm and the ip addresses used match those that i used when setting them up @ the registry.
I have created a new site which is using a dedicated ip address (hiphopdvds.com - 64.5.58.175) and the dns zone on the server shows the correct info. but no matter what i try i cannot get to the site by either ip address or by the domain name.
I can however access my server through ciqala.com and the main shared ip (64.5.48.136)
anyone got any ideas where i can check to get this fixed.
someone i spoke to mentioned i may need to add the ip of the second nameserver to bind but i have no idea how to do this.
any help would be greatly appreciated. i've tried to search for previous posts but its a pretty unique situation so i couldnt find anything related.
