IDE Raid, failed hdd recover time
When the primary HDD failed, what should be "right" procedure?
The primary failed;
The redundant secondary disk keeps running;
1. If I make this secondary to be the primary, and put one brand-new secondary drive in and resyn, I need to unplug the network for so long that clients cannot bear.
2. If I do backup and recover the backup to a new server, in the mean time, let the secondary drive running, the data between the time I do backup to the time I am able to recover and put it back to network are gone. There might be transaction, new members joining. All data of my clients will be gone between the backup-recovery time.
What is the procedure is like when you guys face this problem?
