STARTTLS -SENDMAIL 8.12.9 - HELP

Hello,
Im looking for a little help, I have just download and compiled sendmail,
upgrading to 8.12.9. Downloaded Cryus-Sasl2 because v1 would install for
some reason. And I also have OpenSSL0.9.6a.

Anyways
Im trying to setup SMTP AUTH as we have a growing number of reps on the road
needing to be able to relay mail while they are out and about.

After compiling Sendmail with the SSL and SASL=2 libs. I can run the
following command "/usr/lib/sendmail -d0.1" and I get
Version 8.12.9
Compiled with: DNSMAP LOG MATCHGECOS MIME7TO8 MIME8TO7 NAMED_BIND
NETINET NETUNIX NEWDB PIPELINING SASLv2 SCANF STARTTLS
USERDB
XDEBUG

However if i actually start sendmail and then telnet to port 25 there is no
listing of "250-STARTTLS", no mention of SMTP AUTH or anything. Any ideas?

I woudl really appreciate some help with this,
