Why Faster Why Slower
I have a question regarding hmm... bandwidth or is it about speed. Let me explain.
Assume three location points. For the sake of simplicity, let's say Finland, Costa Rica and Jakarta. The hosting provider is located in, say, Costa Rica. Two users are in Finland and Jakarta each.
Why is it that the Finn might view the pages on Costa Rica faster while the guy from Jakarta would experience a slow connection. I know some tiny bits of info about networking, but what I know doesn't explain this to me. What factors are involved. Is there one crucial factor that controls this phenomenon. Or is it a combination of several. Do the users have to have fast connections as well. What if both had fast connections, I just experienced yesterday a guy telling me my site was slow but I was viewing it fast and he had dsl and I just had a 28.8.
Of course I also don't know if this is what would happen for the two users if the above scenario were for real, I just made the three locations up to illustrate my question.
Hope somebody who knows can share with what they know on this.
