Does this .sh file try to root the box?

This file appears to change the user to root? Is this possible?

#!/bin/sh
# $Id: cvschangeroot.sh,v 1.1 2002/12/17 07:07:40 rossta Exp $

if [ "$1" = "" ]; then
echo "Usage: $0 CVSROOT"
echo "Example: $0 :ext:${USER}@cvs.tikiwiki.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/tikiwiki"
exit 1
fi

TMP=/tmp/`basename $0`.$$.tmp
echo echo \$2 \>\$1 >$TMP
chmod +x $TMP

find . -name 'Root' -exec $TMP {} $1 \;
rm -f $TMP
Does this really change the user to root?

Is this file an attempt to hack the box?

Need a shell expert to enlighten me please!
