How I do this?

Hi All

I am using RH8 and RH9...

I use a GUI remote control software. It is very good but sometimes it 'freezes' or hangs. That requires me to move to the server and 'restart' the remote control daemon.

If I buy a dedicated server I will not be able to 'walk' into the server bulding a restart the remote control daemon.

My questions are:

1- How I force a file system check IF I have to Remote Reboot through APC?.. I mean linux ask for file system check when it have been shutdown 'uncleanly'... How I setup it to do the check whenever a 'unclean' shutdown occurs..?

2- As the Remote Application is not 100% reliable, How I setup cron to periodically restart the remote server daemon so IF it 'hangs' IT will be restarted by the cron process. BETTER, is anyway a script could check if the application is working and start it if not?..Maybe if the application have always the same PID?

What about SSH? How it works? Any url with more information?

TIA
