newbie , how to do with a dedicated server?
We ordered a dedicated server (redhat 8 linux) , but unluckily it's an unmanaged server. Although they installed the mysql, web, ftp server for us, they haven't config anything, they just give us the main ip, and the 6 ips . We have 2 domains, one for website, one for forum. Now, can anyone please tell me how to do in order to get our domains published. Questions I need the answers are (we have root account and ip of the dedicated server):
1. How to config (which file) to make ftp server work? (they installed the WU-ftp server). How to create additional user/pass (not the root account), so our staffs can upload files.
2. How to config the web server, so when we come to www.domain1.com , or www.domain2.com, we can see the files we uploaded. Right now, we still not change the dns yet, because the domains are working at another server, and the dedicated server still not config, so we wanna make sure.
3. How to point our domains to the ips? since they give 1 primary, and 6 ips to us, so how to change the dns ? is that the primary name server for our domains the main ip, and the secondary name server is one of those 6 ips?
anyone knows other things to tell me, please post and I'm appriciated .
