Append to already existing files
My web-hosting provider doesnt allow appending to any already existing files, and explain it by security purposes. Actually I need this feature to upload big files, because I am not able to upload let say a 10-Mb file at a time due to poor dial-up connection, which may get broken when I upload files via FTP. They suggest deleting incomplete file and uploading it again from zero. But its a real pain to overwrite it over and over, it would take a lot of time and money. They said that AllowStoreRestart is disabled by default because it would allow any writable file to be corrupted by a malicious user. Can anyone tell me is it a common practice for providers to disable this feature? Are there any hosts who has this feature enabled?
