Total Redundancy
This has been discussed quite a few times in the past, and I went ahead and searched a bit to find these threads, and ended up with nothing, so im starting a new one. If your able to find these threads please go ahead and post them.In terms of backing up sites for redundancy.
Having your two primary name servers located on server #1 which would be your primary server.
NS1.whatever.com
NS2.whatever.com
After research, utilizing another server on a different network, compared to the primary server. However, utilizing additional name servers, would not work, unless its been proven.
NS3.whatever.com
NS4.whatever.com
The browser would probably only look at the first two name servers, and then stop if the first two come up dead. Or it may be that when typing in the URL www.whatever.com, it may not know to point to the first set of name servers (NS1 & NS2), it may point to the backup servers (NS3 & NS4).
However using domain A records, wouldn't this be possible. Adding another entry in their?
Im just trying to figure out the best way to utilize a total redundant website(in html format).
