Linux ram usage
I have a problem with one of my servers. Here are the specs:
Dual AMD Athlon MP 2200+
1gb DDR ECC Ram
80gb 8mb buffer IDE HD
Redhat Linux 7.3
I found out that the cpus were maxed out but they shouldn't as we have other identical servers and they handle the same load very well. From what I can see, the problem is that the server is swapping 349mb:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1030260 1019364 10896 0 35192 489916
-/+ buffers/cache: 494256 536004
Swap: 2040244 349332 1690912
The thing is the server still have 536mb of free ram. It looks like linux doesn't use the second half of the memory.
Anyone have an idea ?
