Win2k Login Prompt Freezes? / Win2k Firewall Sugg.
Im currently using Kerio and its great but i think its causing problems with logging in to my box and having have to be rebooted a ton of times with essential services being stopped during reboots
or at times when I cant login.Also, when I try to login starting recently, I put in my password and user in Terminal Services and i hit enter, then it just sits there with the prompts grayed out, and looking like its going to login, yet never does and when I move my mouse over the prompt, it disappears
The only changes I made were stopping some none needed services, like Inetinfo and IIS and ****... nothing regarding logging on or network.
Everytime this happens I need a reboot which is a very trouble some thing as theirs apps running which people use constantly and downtime is noticed like instantly.
If anyone has any suggestions, for both the firewall, and why the hell Win2k freezes on login, please share!
I really dont want to go with a firewall off for long as there is tons of hack attempts every couple minutes and some of the vulnerbilities of Win2k are open to them connecting.
The NIC is a realtek and ive tried updating drivers but it says they are up to date, but i see a PCI device which needs drivers, but i cant figure out what it is. anywho, ive had the box for a month or 2, maybe 3, and this all started recently... but ever since i got it, i couldnt push more than 80kbps per connection to the server :\
