Accessing an NTFS partition with linux

Just installed linux on a desktop, and I have a 2nd hard drive in the same box, with a drive formatted using NTFS. I was wondering if there is a way to mount the NTFS partition. I've added a line to /etc/fstab, and set the filesystem to ntfs, but when I try to mount it, I get an error saying that the system cannot mount ntfs partitions.

Do I need to install some sort of NTFS module, or is this impossible?
