Setting up a webserver
I am interested in setting up a webserver on my 512Kbps Brodband connection. I know 512 is rubbish but the whole purpose of setting it up is for learning purposes only NOT to setup a business on it.
Basically i need some help. Firstly i am a windows person so i'd rather do everything in windows. I know how to setup Apache on windows. Can i use windows professional or do i need to use windows server edition?
One thing that i really dont understand is how do I setup the DNS stuff. My ISP gave me 8 static IP addresses, now basically when i try to convert those IP addresses to a hostname i get my providers hostname. How would I register those IP addresses to point to my server etc... thats the most confusing bit.
Any advice or links to any particular sites would be very greatful.
I do i have networking experience. I've setup over 6 internet cafes, the biggest one was with a network of 90 Workstations.
