Anonymous FTP - Cpanel - Web Browsers?

OK.. so we have a customer who runs a print shop, their website we host is setup with an anonymous FTP account, so that their clients "via the web" can upload through their browsers their files to be printed.

Problem is seems that just Internet Explorer works, any browser on a MAC as well as any Netscape browser does not work for uploading using the browser.

It seems to be due to the anonymous FTP access. I for one was under the impression that anonymous FTP typically uses a username of "anonymous", and a password equal to any email address. However it seems that the anonymous setup by us and through Cpanel for this client is requiring a username of "anonymous@domainname.com" with a password equal to any email address.

Internet Explorer prompts the user to enter the correct username and password when going to the site. Thus allowing them to work. However the other browsers do not prompt for this and just fail due to what I believe is the fact that they are issuing a username of "anonymous"

Am I off here? Any ideas? Just not sure where to go with this.
