Users having problems with Java applets.

On my website, I provide access to an IRC server through Java chat room applets...

The Java chat applets work for the majority of people, but I always get emails similiar to this:

comments: Okay. The chat page will not load, at all. The screen stays
white with a little box in the top left corner. The box has a red square,
blue triangle and a green circle in it. I've tried resetting my internet
options. I've tried different browser links to get into the chat. I've 
tried the whole, downloading java thing. It just won't work. I was wondering if
you could tell me any ideas you might have for me to try. I'll try anything
once. Thank you for your time.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? They say that they have Java Virtual Machine installed...

There is also no error message when I 
attempt to go into chat. It says nothing at all.

Servive provider is Eart***** but im not sure about the connection speed.
Or the specs.
I use Internet Explorer.
When I go to Run type in Java a empty folder opens up.
