Another boring nameserver question!

Hi,

If you're like me then you'll agree that nameserver and DNS questions are pretty uninteresting. Perhaps this would explain my lack of in-depth knowledge on this subject!

I've tried a search but to no avail Another boring nameserver question!

Here we go:

Domain has 2 nameservers registered, NS1.DOMAIN.COM AND NS2.DOMAIN.COM

They're changing IP addresses (a new shiny server etc.) - what is the best way to go about this without impacting uptime?

Running cPanel - I tried to assign NS1.DOMAIN.COM but naturally that didn't work as nameservers are already registered.

So I need to delete the nameserver from domain registrar and then create nameservers on cPanel and then register nameservers with domain company (I think).

Is there a more efficient way of doing this that will cause minimal downtime?

Thanks in advance Another boring nameserver question!

Kevin
