Upgrade MySQL [HELP]

I just bought a script called WebDate, some of you may know of it. Anyway I have MySQL 3.23 and when I go to the admin area it wont login at all it just goes right back to the page I was at (the login page).

I went to web dates site to see that they say I need a higher version of MySQL

So my question is can anyone give me an easy to understand step by step on how to upgrade and will the new version of MySQL work with Plesk 6 (I know there were some issues with MySQL and Plesk 5.x)

Also I assume after the upgrade some work will have to be done to all of the other databases already on my server to make them work with it correct?
