Slow LAN uploads from Win2000 to Linux

I am just testing a linux server I built on my local network. When I download with FTP from the server to my windows 2000 PC I get full 100mbit speed, but when I try to upload from the Windows 2000 PC I can only get about 800 kbyte/s? If I upload 3 files at once it goes at 800 kbyte/s x3. It seems to be limited to streams of 800 k/s.
Anyone have any idea what is wrong? I tried different network cards and same thing happens.
I think it could be something to do with packet size or something in Windows 2000 Pro?
