Strange Problem
On one of my servers running Red Hat 8.0 and CPanel, I have a client who is experiencing a rather strange problem.
Basically she has an upload cgi script, that allows someone to upload documents to a particular folder on their virtual account,
A confirmation email is then sent to them telling them someone has uploaded something and gives the link of the new file.
Now the problem is when they click on this link, an error pop-up alert gets generated by Internet Explorer:
"Internet Explorer cannot download file.doc from www.yourdoman.com.
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavialable or cannot be found. Please try later."
It generates the same error if you just type the link into the address bar.
But I change the directory permissions to allow directory listing and browse to that directory, I can see a list of files that have been uploaded. And if I click on one of those links they download no problem.
Does anyone hanve any suggestions as to why the direct link does not work.
