MSSQL Server standard or enterprise

Hi,
My friend needs to install one of the MSSQl Standard or Enterprise version on his Win2k hosting server. I need suggestion to choose the right one coz there is a huge price difference between them.

Also curious to know which version is normally used by most web hosting companies.
