Linux Kernel upgrading

Hey all..

I have a question that's been lingering on my mind...

Is it imperative to install new kernel upgrades as Redhat releases them (if you already have a recent version)?

Redhat seems to be pumping out new kernel updates every few weeks, which is great... But I'm having some difficulty following all the Changelogs.. I was wondering, in general, are there serious security concerns between versions? Is there a trend on version #'s?? Do they jump to 2.4.21 when it's really important?

I just upgraded to 2.4.20-19.7 last week but now 20.7 is out.

I don't mind doing it if it's really necessary... My philosophy is that if it's not broke, don't fix it Linux Kernel upgrading It would cost me some downtime, and also some anxiety.. But I also don't want to leave open vulnerabilities around... Anyone have any tips for scanning over change logs for key information?

Thanks.
