Exim 451 error

When trying to send mail to another server of ours, one of our clients gets an error message. The message is in the exim_mainlog as:

2003-09-15 16:25:28 19yzua-00078y-IK ** john@domain.com: retry timeout exceeded
I am at a loss, I have never dealt with this error message? The domain.com is the domain the user is sending to. Like I said we own that server as well. Is one of the server's messed up? Which one? What can be done to fix this? I am really at a loss, any help would be appreciated.
