Hi, I am messing around with redhat 7.3 on my p1 166mhz w/64mb ram and 30gb hard drive. I know it may not be much but you gotta start somewhere :-). Anyway I loaded everything and it works fine except for the ethernet card. The drivers load fine but whenever you switch to automatic using dhcp it will not get an IP address. I have a linksys befw11s4 but I am using a port on the 4 port switch which uses nat internally. My router ip is 192.168.1.1 and the client addresses start at 192.168.1.100 I tried doing this manually using 255.255.255.0 as a subnet mask, 192.168.1.1 as default gateway and 192.168.1.110 as the ip address which allows the NIC 3 com XL PCI to activate without an error but whenever I go into the terminal and type in ping 192.168.1.1 it will not do it, I pinged my loopback and that is working fine but it will not authenticate me for some reason I think it is dhcp messing it up. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
