rackshack/ev1 abuse dept?
As most hosts probably do, we try to work with AOL to stop them blocking our IP space so we answer all spam complaints that arrive from their scomp system, but now they tell me that forging rDNS is the thing.. so that regardless of the owner of the IP space, others can be held accountable for the spam complaint thereby suffering the consequences to a degree. This of course can be dealt with by wasting more time explaining to AOL and others what's going on, but what a waste of energy, time and money..
One repeat offender laughs up his sleeve at us, because he sent an email saying he would fix and yet weeks later nothing has changed.. as we are not rackshack customers, and many here are of course.. do they ever answer their abuse mail?? So far not a peep.. anybody know? ..or only for people who send them money?
If anyone else has this problem, maybe you could share any methods of getting their attention please?
I suppose it could be said I am a dunce for mentioning this publicly, as it may give thus far ignorant spammers a new idea, but on balance, I'd rather deal with it. On the other hand, it may be old news.. any comments?
