daemontools excuting as user

I'm running serveral SOF2 servers with the RPM mod. Now i have the problem that i run these games with daemontools. This restarts the server when it goes down. Disadvantage is all commands are executed as root.
The RPM mod writes it config files in the /root/.sof2 dir. Now if you run the game as a user it will probably write these files away in the user's dir. But daemontools doesn't allow me this.

Does anyone know of any work arounds?
