80% Packet Loss?
I've been seeing like 80% packet loss on my desktop for quite a while... After bypassing my router, I still see the loss, so it's not that I've horribly screwed something up.
Anyway, what irritates me is that it's 'theoretical' packet loss -- I can do downloads close to my 3 Mbps cap; I can play games like Counter-Strike that don't handle high pings / packet loss well. The only time I notice it is when I try to ping something, it almost invariably times out, with perhaps 5% of my pings going through; running mtr (Matt's Traceroute) shows packet loss between 50 and 99%.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on? It doesn't really impact performance, but it drives me insane knowing that it's there. I have a screenshot of mtr at http://n1zyy.com/packetloss.png
