What are those EXTRA Folders in my ftp ??

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can explain to me those Folders in my ftp account under "Public_html" folder: (I have Cpanel)

_private
_vti_bin
_vti_cnf
_vti_log
_vti_pvt
_vti_txt

I can't delete any of them.. Are they of any use ?
